Job Title: Field Services Technician
Location: NYC Metro + Travel

We are hiring a Field Services Technician. The Field Service Technician performs preventative maintenance and emergency repairs of audio, video and radio frequency (RF) systems, including satellite and microwave equipment for clients focused in the Northeastern United States but not limited to any specific geographic region.  DNAV’s clients include stations from 50kW NYC stations, NPR public radio affiliates, national networks and independent broadcasters.

Job Description:

* Responsible for preventative maintenance and emergency troubleshooting of audio, video and radio frequency (RF) systems, including satellite and microwave equipment
* Maintain audio over IP plants
* Maintain logs and records as required by law
* Maintain logs and reports as per FCC Rules and Regulations
* Install and maintain audio, video, RF and computer equipment. These systems include digital transmitter system, microwave systems and of all broadcast equipment including, but are not limited to audio routing and console systems, technical measurement devices, audio file servers and automation systems, production software and systems
* Maintain and operate all studio electronic equipment
* Install new equipment
* Assist in the design of any improvements to our operation

Requirements:

* Must have 3-5 years of broadcast engineering and/or operations experience
* Extensive knowledge of computer networking and broadcast automation systems
* 3-5 years of studio and transmitter maintenance experience preferred
* Knowledge of Audio Over IP systems, Dante Level 1&2 certifications preferred
* Basic knowledge of AM and FM transmission systems
* Ability to properly terminate and certify LV cabling including Cat6, Cat6A
* Must have a valid Driver’s License

Your Skills and Knowledge:

* Must be able to use a variety of equipment including but not limited to:  SAS and other routing and console equipment, various FM and AM transmitters, broadcast automation (RCS, OMT, ENCO, Wide Orbit), audio processing equipment (Orban, Omnia) and software suites
* Ability to resolve complex problems not covered by existing procedures or practices independently
* Must have knowledge of FCC rules. The use of test equipment and soldering skills required
* Ability to effectively communicate with client personnel as required
* Ability to work independently under timeline to achieve company goals
* Must be able to comprehend schematics, mechanical drawings and technical manuals
* Ability to prioritize work
* Must be able to work with high power AM directional arrays
* Ability to effectively work and communicate with others

Additional Considerations:

* Must be able to work a flexible schedule including able to work multiple days, evenings, and weekends.  Availability to travel over multiple days is essential
* Must be able to work in changing weather conditions
* Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
* Valid driver’s license and good driving record required. In addition, proof of insurance and liability coverage may be required
